You've just landed in Los Angeles to be trained for your life-changing adventure in China, and as you walk off the plane you encounter a group of people.  Maybe five.  Maybe ten.  Whatever.  It's a community nonetheless - and they're all here to welcome you.  It's your team.  They don't know each other.  You don't know them.  But that's the reason for beginnings - and as you'll soon discover, you'll have a whole year to get to know one another.

It is likely that your team will consist of individuals from all over North America, and you'll notice that each teammate is unique.  This is a great chance to get out of your comfort zone and develop deep relationships that go beyond differences in styles, habits, behaviors, attitudes, and even accents.
  Each individual that makes up your team plays a certain role.  While one person may be gifted in the area of leadership, another may have a strong ability to provide insight and sound advice.  Each role carries with it a responsibility - a responsibility to offer up those skills and abilities for the benefit of the team.  Your team responsibilities will consist of the following:
  • Meet with your team on a regular basis for team studies.
  • Encourage and support your teammates.
  • Resolve conflicts and issues in an appropriate manner.
  • Request feedback and provide input to your team members.
  • Maintain and nurture your own growth process.
